Moving Contacts From One Client Record To Another

To move a contact from one client name & address to another, whilst using the original email address, please follow the steps below





  • Go into the Clients module






Note:  You will be opening details on both clients to allow you to copy data from one to the other, therefore, will end up with two clients module tabs open at the same time 



  • Within the Clients Module - Click into the Select Client field and start to type the name of the client you would like to add the contact to.  Select the client from the drop-down options, by clicking on it



  • Click on the Clients Module again, click into the Select Client field and start to type the name of the client you would like to move the contact form.  Select the client from the drop-down options by clicking on it. 




  • You will now have two client tabs open at the same time






  • Select the client you are moving the contact form (by clicking on the open tab with the correct client's name in it), click on the Contacts tab and click on View 









  • A new pop up box will appear with the contact details within it, make a copy of the email address.  


You then need to change the email address within this client contact, to something such as the person's name@noemail.com


Note: keep this tab open so you can copy information from it



  • Select the opened client module you would like to move/add the contact to (by clicking on the open tab with the correct client's name in it), and click on the contacts tab



  • Click on Add contact


  • Complete the contact details (using the email address you noted above) and click save.  Full details of how to add a contact can be found at How to add a contact to a client



  • Copy the contacts details such as job title, mobile number, etc from the amended contact that you left open and click save




  • The contact should now be added/moved to the new Client, you are able to close this tab

  • Back in the client module of the company you have moved the contact from (with the contact box still open), you need to remove the tick from active for client and click save.




  • This will change active to false for the client you have moved the contact from.


  • Now open the Contact Module


  • Click in the select contact field - start to type name of the person you have just added/removed and select the unlinked contact name (shown with the red x), by clicking on them





  • Go to the Privacy tab - remove the active and privacy ticks and click save
